Pros:
Your own house!
No sharing walls with neighbors.
Your own deck!
Maybe a basement? I can’t tell if that’s usable space, but, well, it hints at the possibility.
No HOA or strict neighborhood rules!
There’s a decent amount of space between you and your neighbors.
With some work, maybe you can turn this into an adorable tiny home. MAYBE. (It depends on whether the inside is filled with caution tape…)
Cons:
They didn’t SAY this in the listing, but you know it comes “as is”…
Only one outside photo doesn’t inspire confidence about the inside…
Spiders live here. Probably centipedes too. And who knows what else? This place looks old enough to not be insulated well and with that many trees, you know it’s going to be a veritable cicada farm when Brood Whatevers emerge this year. (Happy surprise to the new homeowner!)
I’m not kidding about the cicadas. While I do have quite the overactive imagination, I didn’t make that up. See Billions Of Cicadas From 2 Broods To Emerge In Maryland In 2024: “A rare event that hasn't happened since 1803 will unfold in MD and elsewhere: two broods of cicadas will descend.” Enjoy!
Here’s the house from Google Street view:
Now, this photo is from 12 years ago so the mattresses on the deck are probably from the previous people. But what happened? In a house this small, there probably aren’t any roommates. Mattresses being moved outside is usually something that happens on moving day but there are no other boxes so what else was it? Maybe bed bugs?? I cannot help but think the worst.
The other possibility is that someone was moving the mattresses out to the curb JUST as the Google Street View van drove by. That may seem like a stretch but it DOES happen. I mean, if someone was caught having a bathroom emergency on the side of the road, then sure, the mattresses could have been in transit.
Anyway, hop over to see the listing. Enjoy!
